School Counselors

Welcome!

Enhance your student's educational journey with the Willamette Promise Dual Credit Program. Depending on the class, students will earn college credit from either institution. Course information is conveniently provided through Canvas, though many students may not need to access it directly. We offer a variety of tools and links to support advising and ensure a smooth experience. If students need assistance with Canvas or course registration or have questions about the program, we are here to help. Contact us for resources and guidance to maximize the Willamette Promise!

The cost for students is $30 per year, even if they take more than one course or if they take classes for each of our university partners.

  • Western Oregon University offers Assessment Based Learning Credits. These credits do not have set add/drop dates for courses. To allow the "no risk" option for students, we have developed a program that follows Sponsored Dual Credit standards except for the registration and drop dates so that students have flexibility. Students must still register and participate in the course at the high school to be eligible for credits in this program, which differs from the true definition of Assessment-based Learning, so that we may ensure a rigorous experience for each student.

    Steps to earn credit:

    • Students must register and enroll in courses through the Willamette Promise Portal. Here is the student guide for that.

    • Students who are taking Western Oregon courses should pay through the portal. Here is a guide for that. (Note that Western and Oregon Tech students should pay through the Willamette Promise Portal)

    • Students who earn credit must choose to accept or decline credit. Here is a guide for that.

  • Oregon Tech offers Sponsored Dual Credit. Students must register and participate in the course at the high school and university to be eligible for credits in the program. The difference between this and traditional Dual Credit is that the teachers have alternative certification through ongoing professional development.

    Steps to earn credit:

    • Students must fill out Oregon Tech’s Dual Credit Application. You can find that link here.

    • Students must register for the course(s). You can find the link here.

    • Students who are only taking Oregon Tech courses can pay here.
